The newest project from the animation giant is almost upon our screens, here’s the latest information about Wildwood:

Laika studios is beloved by animation fans after bringing iconic films to life including Coraline, Paranorman and Kubo and the Two Strings. Now, there’s a brand new feature production for audiences to look forward to. The latest information released about the project includes a shiny new full trailer.

What’s Wildwood about?

Adapted from Colin Meloy’s book series, the feature adaptation follows the story of a teenage older sister on a mission to rescue her little brother after he gets abducted by a murder of crows. The biggest problem is the place where he’s been taken to, a place which bears the name of the Impassable Wilderness. She’s joined by her classmate as they traverse the fantastical landscape just beyond their town and realise there’s even more to the forest than they could have ever imagined.

The cast includes the talents of Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack), Jacob Tremblay (Wonder), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman), Richard E. Grant (Game of Thrones), Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Amandla Stenberg (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies), Tom Waits (Father Mother Sister Brother), Charlie Day (Pacific Rim), Blythe Danner (Meet the Parents), Arthur Knight, Maya Erskine (Pen15), Jake Johnson (The Dink), Tantoo Cardinal (Godless), Rob Delaney (Catastophe), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Marc Evan Jackson (The Good Place), Len Cariou (Blue Bloods), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Trapped), Angela Bassett (9-1-1) and Mahershala Ali (Leave the World Behind).

When’s it out?
