You is coming back to Netflix for a third season…
Netflix has revealed that You will return for season 3. The first season was a savvy pickup from Lifetime that did gangbusters on Netflix, so they took over funding on season 2 early in 2019 when Lifetime decided not to pursue extending the series further. The season 2 viewing figures must have been exceptionally good when it was released on Boxing Day, because the streaming service has wasted little time in ordering ten new episodes, which will be along in 2021.
In season 2 of the controversial thriller show, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) moved to LA to get a fresh start after murdering his girlfriend Guinevere Beck back in New York, and fell for chef Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti). Badgley and Pedretti are confirmed to reprise their roles in season 2. Show co-creators Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti will also return to steer the season 3 ship.
Have you caught up with season 2 yet? There’s even more incentive to do so now…
“There are some things I’ve done with prosthetic bodies in this [new] season that were kind of nauseating as I did them, I will say that,” Badgley admitted before the new season debuted, adding “I’m really excited for people to get to know Love. She adds a dimension that hasn’t existed yet. There’s a side to Joe that we haven’t seen yet because her character, in some ways, is the polar opposite of Beck.”
More soon.
