We think of ourselves as being fully-qualified film geeks here, so were very excited when a copy of Taschen’s 100 All-Time Favorite Movies arrived in the post this morning… only to discover, after flicking through the contents list, that there’s really quite a lot of acclaimed films we’ve never actually seen (or, in many cases, heard of). Oh.
Amongst its 800 pages, there’s a synopsis, cast details, trivia, film stills and production photos for all one hundred recommended films, which include the more populist likes of Vertigo, Goldfinger, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Face/Off (really), Blade Runner and Star Wars. It also weighs an absolute ton.
Published later this month, it’s a beautifully-presented set and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to brush up on their 20th century cinema.
We’ll be back in approximately 200 hours’ time once we’ve re-educated ourselves.
