The first episode tells the story of head of sales, Joe. Popular with his colleagues, Joe is the life and soul of the office and always the first to tell a joke. However, his cheery demeanour is knocked when he is sent home early from work after an injury to find wife Belinda acting strangely.
Suspecting that she is having an affair, Joe makes the desperate decision to install hidden cameras around his house to keep an eye on her and their two children. The more he watches his family, though, the more addicted he becomes to monitoring their lives.
His secret surveillance soon exposes his family’s clandestine lives, including his wife’s suspicious behaviour and his teenage son’s private life. But is the truth really what he wants, or will he realise that ignorance was bliss?
Meanwhile, Coopers’ new recruit Ash catches the eye of recently divorced Ally. Despite Ash showing initial interest, Ally can’t help but feel as though Ash is hiding something. Will Ash let her in, or continue to keep her at arm’s length?
Episode 2
Tuesday 25 October 2016, 9pm
The second episode of Danny Brocklehurst’s hit drama focuses on Holly, MD Jenna’s PA. By the very nature of her job, she is always organised, in control of her life and of her surroundings – or so her colleagues think.
Holly’s insecurities and addiction to social media make her constantly feel that everyone around her is living a more exciting life than her own. After finding a note in her boyfriend Neil’s pocket, Holly convinces herself that he’s having second thoughts about their relationship. Desperately unhappy and anxious, she starts to reminisce about her old flame Adam Carver.
Discovering that Adam is newly single, Holly assumes a new online identity to try and win back his affection. But events soon spiral out of control, ending in tears and revelations.
Meanwhile, newly-divorced Ally is ecstatic when intern Ash asks her out on an official date. Is this the start of a true romance or is it all too good to be true?
Episode 3
Tuesday 1 November 2016, 9pm
Episode three of Ordinary Lies focuses on Toke, who by day is the down-to-earth and popular Coopers Warehouse Manager – but by night he transforms into his self-styled, crime-fighting superhero alter ego, the Rain Town Knight.
Toke is patrolling the streets one evening when he comes across a young homeless girl called Chrissy, whom he witnesses getting attacked by a group of young women. Clearly in need of his help, Toke takes Chrissy to hospital to get treated and reveals his protective side when he provides her with food, shelter and even a job.
Unbeknown to his colleagues or girlfriend, Toke gets wrapped up in Chrissy’s life – bit by bit and is soon tested on how far he is willing to go to help her.
Will Toke’s generosity and caring nature pay off in the long run or will he get more than he bargained for?
Elsewhere, after Ally’s discovery about Ash’s drug abuse, she wants to help him in any way she can. Will Ash let her or will he continue on his path to self destruction?
Episode 4
Tuesday 8 November 2016, 9pm
The fourth episode of Ordinary Lies follows the journey of Wendy, the gregarious forklift truck driver who likes a good time and enjoys joking with her colleagues at Coopers.
Wendy is content with her life; she enjoys her job and has the perfect family home with her girlfriend Katya and daughter Florence. However, Wendy’s life takes a turn for the worse when her violent ex, Nina shows up unannounced at her home and threatens to kill Katya.
With Nina determined to break up Wendy’s new relationship and ruin her life, Wendy is forced into a pit of despair. When the police don’t seem to offer any help, Wendy feels she has no choice but to take matters into her own hands, leading to drastic repercussions.
Is this a decision she could regret for the rest of her life?
Meanwhile, just as things seem to be heading in the right direction for Ally and Ash, Ash goes missing. Will this make Ally want to give up trying to help him overcome his depression or will she continue to fight to help make Ash better?
Episode 5
Tuesday 15 November 2016, 9pm
The fifth episode of Ordinary Lies focuses on warehouse picker Fletch and his wife, customer service supervisor Caz. Married childhood sweethearts, Caz and Fletch are a couple who are happy and comfortable with their daily routine at work and at home.
When Fletch’s mother is suddenly taken ill and ends up in hospital in a critical condition, their lives are turned upside down. In a moment of desperation, Caz decides to take matters into her own hands and get in touch with Fletch’s estranged father, Patrick.
However, unbeknown to the couple, Patrick has a new life and family. Caz, who has a vision of the ideal father-son reunion in her mind, takes the initiative to track him down and forces Fletch along with her. As both Fletch and Patrick’s lives start to unravel before their eyes, will Fletch be able to forgive Caz for unlocking the Pandora’s Box of his past?
Meanwhile Ally and Kim (Ash’s mum) find themselves consoling Ash at hospital, trying to persuade him he’s in the best place for the treatment he needs. But Ash seems to have different ideas and starts to take his anger out on the people who care about him most.
Episode 6

The final episod draws the season to a conclusion by focusing on General Manager Jenna. Always immaculately dressed and highly organised, Jenna is an image of perfection: she has the ideal apartment, car, the perfect clothes, a wonderful fiancé and job.
However, behind Jenna’s composed exterior, she is hiding a dark secret. Struggling to escape her lingering past, combined with her frustration at the recent IVF results, Jenna finds herself in a troubled place.
As she tries to distract herself with a wild night out which ends in disaster, her wayward sister comes back on the scene and she threatens to ruin the life that Jenna has built for herself.
With Jenna’s dark past lurking, is her perfect life about to unravel?
Meanwhile Ally is still determined to help Ash through his depression. Will she finally realise her worth when she catches someone else’s eye at Coopers?
