Created and written by Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes), ITV1’s Eternal Law focuses on two lawyers with a twist – they are angels placed on earth to do good.
Human beings are proving to be a bit of a mystery for lawyer and rookie undercover-angel Tom, who in the second episode of Eternal Law has to assist his mentor Zac in a child-custody case. Can the older and wiser Zac help him negotiate the hurdles of life on earth – and without tripping up himself?
Episode 2 airs at 9pm on Thursday 12th January on ITV1. To whet your appetite, here are ten teasing lines of dialogue from the episode…
» ‘Oh Zak, you can no more resist that woman than the moth the flame. With very similar results.’
» ‘Well, let’s just hope that Mr. Mountjoy didn’t witness that little wobble.’
» ‘I love you. Je t’aime. Until I get bored and find someone else richer or younger or with bigger mammary glands. They’re weird, aren’t they, humans?’
» ‘One minute they’re madly in love with one another, the next they’re in court screaming at each other. It makes no sense.’
» ‘What do you know about love, you weirdo?’
» ‘Fight! What larks.’
» ‘What’s it like being young, Hal? I mean, can you actually feel your bones growing, sort of creaking? That would be freaky.’
» ‘You think you’ve cornered the market in suffering?’
» ‘Cricket? He can barely tie his own shoelaces, he won’t understand the nuances of cricket!’
» ‘They’re so messy and changeable and contradictory. And they have missiles.’
