Milton Jones, often fondly referred to (mainly by himself) as ‘the weird bloke with the shirts from Mock The Week’, releases the DVD of his live show Lion Whisperer on Monday 21st November.
Lion Whisperer is the second stand-up DVD from the surreal one-liner merchant, featuring over 60 minutes of family entertainment including a surprise appearance of his very own ‘grandfather’ exploring the weird and wonderful world of the Jones’s.
We caught up with Milton to find out what he likes to watch to relax between shows…
Favourite TV show to cheer you up:
“Modern Family. A slick and funny American sitcom – no doubt they put lots of money into the writing. When will we learn?
Favourite TV show to watch before going to sleep:
“Any kind of football. Under 17 Lithuania v North Korea will do. It’s like staring into the fire.”
TV show that reminds you of being a teenager:
“Blackadder. Top comic actors with lots of funny things to say. Rowan Atkinson at his gargoyle best.”
Favourite “guilty pleasure” TV show:
“Traffic Cops. It gives the illusion that the police are in control. Also the commentary is so obvious. For example, if a man is arrested in a pub: ‘this bloke is nicked from one bar and put behind some others’ – I stand on the sofa and applaud. Obviously the next step for these shows is for the viewers to vote on sentencing.”
Axed TV show that you most wish would return:
“Arrested Development. Great American sitcom about another dysfunctional family, but apparently a bit bright for the US market. But I hear they’re making a film!”
