If you live in Britain, ignoring the 2012 Olympics is like scaling the Shard in an invisibility suit: it’s pretty much impossible and even if you do manage it, hardly anyone will notice. So, in the spirit of the London Games, here’s a video produced by Mini – one of the competition’s official sponsors, of course – to celebrate both the impending sporting festivities and one of the greatest British movies of all time: The Italian Job.

Featuring some great stunt driving around familiar London landmarks, a number of athletic cameos and a lot of dubious-quality acting from Daley Thompson, this prolonged homage-cum-commercial is actually a lot of fun; more so, a cynic climbing a skyscraper in an impossible costume might say, than the Games themselves.
