Actor Steven Roberts joins the cast of Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks this week as George, an outspoken and catty new sixth-form student. George’s wicked sense of humour makes him a hit with his girlfriends, but guys are often wary of his oozing self-confidence.

We caught up with Steven to find out what he likes to watch to relax between filming…

Favourite TV show to cheer you up:

Come Dine With Me. This programme always makes me smile. I love the narrator’s wickedly dry comments and seeing how all the contestants will (or won’t) get on.”

TV show that most reminds you of your childhood:

The Generation Game, because it reminds me of good old fashioned Saturday night TV, sat around watching with the family.”

TV show that you find most addictive:

The Apprentice. I love seeing what task they’ll have to do each week and see if I can predict Lord Sugar’s decisions on who to fire and hire.”

TV show that most reminds you of being a teenager:

The Simpsons. It was always on when I got home from school and I’ve never seen a bad episode and they just keep coming!”

Favourite TV show to watch hungover:

“T4 on Channel 4 – whatever’s on just seems perfect hangover TV for me. Whether it’s Friends, The Simpsons, the latest reality show or interviews and music, it’s the perfect chillout Sunday morning TV after a Saturday night out.”
