Created by Paul Abbott (Shameless), the six-part series’ cast includes Peter Wight (Another Year), Vincent Regan (300) and Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry).
Sevigny will play Mia, “a contract killer with a big secret: she’s a transgender woman”, while Armstrong will play Ben, a landscape gardener who falls for Mia, unaware of her transgendered status.
Set to air next year, Hit And Miss sees Mia’s life turned upside down when she receives a letter from her ex, Wendy, revealing that she’s dying from cancer and that Mia had fathered a son, 11-year-old Ryan (newcomer Jorden Bennie). The series follows “Mia’s attempts to mix her killer instincts with her new maternal ones and her search for identity”.
