After a long, cold start to the year, Gogglebox is finally gracing our screens again starting tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.

Of course, this series will begin on a sad note, with fave June Bernicoff not returning after the death of her husband Leon at Christmas. When asked on Twitter if she would do the show, perhaps with one of her daughters, she said:

“It was a great adventure with a great finale with the NTA.”

This is a reference to the tributes paid to Leon at the National Television Awards last month, with Suranne Jones declaring “God bless you Leon” as she announced the show’s win for Best Factual Entertainment Show.

Later, Izzie and Ellie Warner added: “This is absolutely amazing and its a fabulous opportunity to be here and I’d just like to say thank you to the NTAs for having us, and a massive thank you to everybody who has voted.

“It’s the fourth year in a row that we’ve won so it’s a real privilege. Everybody puts so much hard work into it and we just want to say thank you and this is on behalf of everybody. We’d like to dedicate this award to Leon and June.”
