5 of TV’s quirkiest tie-ins

Posted Filed under

The way in which television viewers consume their favourite shows may well be changing, but the biggest hits are just as popular as ever.

This means that there is still plenty to be earned when it comes to merchandising and while all of the staples are still out there, you never know what you might find when it comes to things that are based on your favourite show but have nothing at all do with watching it! In this feature, we’re going to take a look at some of the most intriguing TV show goodies and branded tie-ins so that you can unleash your inner fan like never before!

Sons of Anarchy Temporary Tattoos

If you’re going to be in a biker gang, you’re going to need some tattoos. Even if you’re not but you want to look the part for any occasion, a temporary tattoo could be the perfect answer. The one that really caught our eye is a massive back tattoo with the Grim Reaper himself featuring heavily, but you don’t need to go all out like that to get into it. Every season of the show seems to come with tattoo chase cards as standard, so whether it’s Halloween or you just want to justifiably sneak into the local biker bar, these might well be the answer!

The Official 2 Broke Girls Waitress Costume

We can’t really see why anyone would want to dress up like a waitress for anything other than their day job, but if you’re into 2 Broke Girls and yellow and red matches your eyes, then why not go for it? You really do never know what you’ll find when it comes to television tie-ins and we’re just happy to let you know that it’s out there!

The Family Guy Slot Game

As a cartoon, Family Guy lends itself to plenty of different merchandising opportunities. We know that slot games with a television link are nothing new, as we haven’t been to a pub that doesn’t have a Deal or No Deal game on display for years, but this one is a lot more fun. All of the characters play a part and there is much more to the game than you might think if you’re the kind of person that just puts their change in when they’re passing by. Slots and TV shows seem to go hand in hand too, as there are plenty more out there including the likes of South Park, Game of Thrones and even Pawn Stars – the best we can do is five bucks.

Sharknado Defence Team T-Shirt

Okay, so t-shirts are the low hanging fruit of the television merchandise world, but when it comes to cult classics, they don’t get much bigger and better than Sharknado. If you enjoy movies are so bad that they’re good and they know it, this is probably the definitive series of the decade and what better way to show your support than to enrol in the defence team? The only training you need is to… well… buy the shirt.

The Iron Throne

The throne is one of the most iconic pieces from probably the biggest show going right now and that hasn’t escaped the attention of the marketing department. There are toys, scale models and even bookends out there just waiting to be put on a shelf somewhere, but if you’ve got a spare £25,000 lying around then why not go all out on a full-size replica? It’s the perfect centrepiece for any modern living room and probably wholly impractical and uncomfortable, but that’s all part of being a fan, right?
