While The Avengers’ – no, not that one – other great female character Cathy Gale (played by Goldfinger’s Honor Blackman) deserves a mention, it is fellow Bond alumnus Diana Rigg who takes the top spot of our list.
The brilliant and beautiful Emma Peel was ostensibly the amateur sidekick to John Steed’s gentleman spy in the psychedelic 60s spy-fi series but really she could handle herself just as well as he. Clad in her famed catsuit, Mrs Peel made kicking some serious diabolical mastermind butt while sharing some witty banter with Steed look easy.
