Every year Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall visit projects across Wales during what is known as ‘Wales Week’.
One of this year’s highlights will be a visit to BBC Cymru Wales’ Roath Lock Studios in the first week of July to mark Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary, where they will meet Matt Smith (the Eleventh Doctor) and Jenna Coleman (Clara) as well as some of the Time Lord’s most famous adversaries.
A Clarence House spokesman commented: “The Prince and The Duchess always enjoy their annual visit to Wales and this year they are looking forward to a varied programme of engagements including everything from Dylan Thomas’s Boat House to Doctor Who’s TARDIS! Their Royal Highnesses are also keen to highlight the vital work being done across Wales by some of the charities they are involved with.”
Earlier this month Jenna Coleman was presented to Her Majesty The Queen when a major new extension of the BBC’s Broadcasting House was officially opened.
The BBC announced earlier this month that Matt Smith will leave Doctor Who in this year’s Christmas special. Series 8 will apparently begin airing late next summer and will run for 12 episodes.
