10 things you didn’t know about ‘The Hangover’

It’s over six years now since Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis found themselves in Las Vegas for the ultimate bachelor party in hit comedy The Hangover.

Filmed in Nevada over just 15 days – no doubt the cast spent some of that time searching for the best casino! – the movie became the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2009 and the second highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever in the United States.

The morning after the party, the guys wake up with a missing tooth, a trashed hotel suite, a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet. They probably wish they’d just been gambling online instead!

Here are ten fun facts about The Hangover

Bradley Cooper is actually teetotal in real life after he quit drinking at the age of 29.

Director Todd Phillips has a cameo appearance as a guy making out with a woman in a hotel elevator.

Jack Black was offered the part of Alan Garner, but turned it down.

The songs sung by Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis (‘Stu’s Song’ and ‘Three Best Friends’) were improvised.

It was Ken Jeong’s decision to be naked in the scene where he jumps out from the trunk.

Lindsay Lohan turned down the part of the stripper, Jade, but turned it down. She’s since admitted that she regrets this decision!

The filmmakers wanted to use an actual taser for the taser scene, but lawyers at Warner Bros. insisted that a prop was used instead.

Ed Helms appears in his underwear in all three Hangover movies.

Bradley Cooper says that “the people in Las Vegas never even noticed [a] movie was being filmed” – even when he had tiger scratches on his neck!
