It’s a beautiful thing when two of our biggest loves come together into one. It’s fair to say that most Americans have a love for a good cup of coffee with 83% of us drinking it. And considering that the average American watches five hours of TV per day, it seems only natural that the two often go hand in hand.

So what could be better then than discovering that some of the characters on our favorite TV shows share our love for the golden nectar? Read on to find out which of our TV favorites indulge their caffeine craving as much as we.

Spencer Hasting, Pretty Little Liars

Spencer loves a good, strong espresso – so much so that her friends refuse to drink the coffee she makes them because it’s too strong for them. There have even been times throughout the show when Spencer’s friends have tried – unsuccessfully – to put her on a coffee ban.

Caroline Forbes, The Vampire Diaries

Although Caroline isn’t opposed to the odd glass of champagne, she always falls back on her trusty take-out coffee – even when (spoiler alert) she becomes a vampire.

Nancy Botwin, Weeds

Nancy may make her money from selling marijuana, but her own drug of choice is caffeine all the way. It’s rare an episode goes by without Nancy hitting the iced joe.

Joey Tribbiani, Friends

Joey loves a good cappuccino, but in truth, this one could go out to any of the friends really. They might try to convince us they all have careers, but more often than not, we’ll find them hanging out in Central Perk in the middle of the working day. These guys love coffee so much they even have their favorite table permanently reserved.

Mike Ross, Suits

Faking a Harvard Law Degree and working as a lawyer is no mean feat, and Mike relies on his caffeine to get him through his working days. In a tribute to the nation’s favorite drink, we even see Mike accidently on purpose spilling his coffee over an affidavit to stop his boss from signing it and unleashing a whole world of pain.

Dr Kelso, Scrubs

Dr Kelso loves two things: coffee and money. These loves are brought together in the episode “My Coffee” where Dr Kelso even goes so far as to open a coffee shop right on the hospital grounds.
