On The One Show, Ncuti Gatwa revealed his one regret after leaving his role as the Fifteenth Doctor in Doctor Who after two series.

“I never got to fight a Dalek,” Gatwa sighed. “Dalek or a Cyberman. I mean it’s just the crux of Doctor Who… So, might do that.”

In an April 2024 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gatwa stated his ambition for his Doctor to face Daleks.

“I’ve heard chats about me not ever facing a Dalek. “I’d be so angry if that’s the case! By the time that I’m done with Doctor Who, I better have faced a Dalek.”

Daleks did appear in Gatwa’s Doctor Who Season Two finale episode The Reality War but it was Time Hotel manager Anita who spied the Third Doctor facing them.

For fans who were sad to see the Fifteenth Doctor regenerate in The Reality War, there’s hope yet that they might see him again someday. In a show about time travel, you never know when a past incarnation of the Doctor may show up.

For now, there is no word on whether or when the BBC will commission future series of the programme.
