There are regular top movie lists every now and then, but it’s stoners time. There are movies, and there are MOVIES. Ever watched a movie where stoners displayed their smoking creativity as well as made badass moves? This type of list is always tricky to decide, but we’ve made a compilation of some of the five best stoner movies ever produced.
Here we go!
Soul Plane (2004)
We start with a movie that features the music poster boy of ganja, Snoop Dogg. In Soul Plane, Nashawn Wade had a torrid time flying with a particular airline, and he sued the airline. He got a huge payout, and he decided to make the most of the money he got. Therefore, he started his airline.
Snoop Dogg starred as the pilot of Wade’s airline, and he created different comical scenes. The inexperience of the airline owner does not help matters too.
Our idiot brother (2011)
The protagonist of the movie is Ned, an optimist who always has a positive outlook on life. However, most people around him consider him an idiot for that. E is a vegetable seller at the farmers market. As a part-time thing, he sells weed discreetly to make more money.
One morning, a policeman shows up at his counter and mentions that he wants to buy some cannabis bud – the type you can put in a glass bong. Ned sells some buds to him. This earns Ned some time in prison. He really is an ‘idiot, isn’t he?
The movie isn’t a borderline comedy, but some scenes will make you really laugh.
How High (2001)
The movie title itself is evidence of scenes to come. It highlights problems man college students face and how they tackle these problems. The principal characters are Silas and Jamal. Not A-students, but they still find their way (by cheating on admission test) to study at the University of Harvard on scholarship.
They are beset by the problem of studying and passing their tests. They figure that if they get high and study high, they’ll be able to get high grades. How thoughtful of them!
Soon, they start having problems, and they look for ways not to be kicked out of school.
Kid Cannabis (2014)
Do you know how weed trafficking works? Kid Cannabis creates a vivid description of it. It is the story of an 18-year old who decides to drop out of school and venture into trafficking weed from Canada to the United States.
At first, he makes huge money from the ‘lucrative’ business, and he’s on top of the world. It doesn’t last for long, though. Problems arise, and it’s a downslope for him.
Dazed and Confused (1993)
Peer pressure – that’s the major theme of the Dazed and Confused. It pictures how typical teenagers behave, especially when they attain some form of freedom. It’s the end of high school, and a small group of teenagers decide to drive around, smoke pot, and down alcohol. They talk about different subjects that hamper the development of youths like drunkenness and gender rituals. Also, abuse on people who do not conform with public ideas is portrayed.
