The BBC held a press launch of the premiere episode of Doctor Who Series 11, The Woman who Fell to Earth, on September 24 in Sheffield. Here are some early reactions, in chronological order, from those who were at the screening.
New #DoctorWho is sensational. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be thrilled, and you’ll be deliriously happy enjoying just how great Jodie Whittaker and her gang are. pic.twitter.com/Vmz9UrgqEz

The embargo is pretty strict as it should be, and I’m not about to spoil anything from the #DoctorWhoPremiere. But it was seriously impressive in nearly everything it was trying to achieve. Felt like a proper fresh start, had loads of heart, soul and action. Loved it.

I’ve just watched the first episode and am happy to report that Jodie Whittaker is the absolute dog’s bollocks https://t.co/FsDwYuaKlJ

Also the first episode of the new #DoctorWho has several Asian characters and none of them is plotting to blow up a train/the Home Secretary. A revelation!

I was lucky enough to see the preview of the first episode – and it is glorious (and a lot of love for #Sheffield from #DoctorWho!) https://t.co/SNVXjsEGiT

The #DoctorWho q and a at the #DoctorWhoPremiere was wonderful. When asked whether she’d been given any advice from previous Doctors #JodieWhittaker said she was told “you’re gonna love it!” but to “be present and enjoy it”. Pretty sound advice for the rest of us too really! pic.twitter.com/4zwt4Zb92q

I was lucky enough to be invited to Sheffield yesterday to watch the first screening of The Woman Who Fell To Earth. The episode itself it unlike anything Doctor Who has given us since 2005. Imagine if sixties Who was made in 2018. You’re in for a real treat. Jodie IS The Doctor.

Can’t say much because of terrifying monsters from the planet Embargo, but if you’re excited to watch the first episode of #DoctorWho this year you won’t be disappointed. Jodie Whittaker IS the Doctor and it’s worth the wait. pic.twitter.com/a6OX3nJu5I

It’s been an absolute privilege sharing the experience of the Doctor Who premiere with my Time Team squad. I was surrounded by friends new and old and felt so proud to be a part of something bigger than myself – Doctor Who is looking ‘brilliant!’ appreciate ya 🙏🏾

Couple more pics from yesterday. We’ve been prohibited from giving any detail on the actual episode, but Jodie is excellent! New team is fab. Excited to see where it goes from here – definitely a great place to build from! #DoctorWho pic.twitter.com/uiHieskLAU
