Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix project has revealed some more details…
Ever since it was announced last July, Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon has been on our radar. Written by Snyder, along with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, it’s an idea we understand began life as a Star Wars concept, pre-Disney.
Now a stand alone Netflix movie, it’s being produced under Zack Snyder’s first-look partnership with the streamer though his company The Stone Quarry.
Here’s the premise of Rebel Moon:
When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
They always have a mysterious past these rebels, don’t they!
Cast
While Sofia Boutella’s casting was reported back in November, it seems there are a number of familiar names joining her, as Zack Snyder himself revealed:

It’s a fascinating list: Charlie Hunnam and Djimon Hounsou lend the movie some heft, while Jena Malone and Ray Fisher have collaborated with Snyder before on his DC Universe films.
Rebel Moon is definitely a project we’re going to be hearing a lot more about. We’ll keep you posted.
