Andrew Scott stars as the complex con artist, drawn from the pages of Patricia Highsmith’s Ripley novels.
With just a month to go, Netflix have revealed a longer look at the upcoming Ripley.
Landing on April 4th, the series comes from writer and director Stephen Zallian (Schindler’s List, The Night Of), who presents the series in evocative black and white.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder. The drama series is based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels.
Joining Scott in the cast are Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood and Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf.
Ripley is co-produced by Showtime and Endemol Shine North America in association with Entertainment 360 and Filmrights.
