Captain Burnham and her crew will finally be with us in April 2024. 

The long-awaited final run of Star Trek: Discovery lands in April next year. The phase long-awaited seems appropriate as the show’s fourth season wrapped up in March 2022.

You can blame the spacing out on live-action Star Trek shows on the recent writers and actors strikes – we enjoyed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 this year, but there’s a fair chance its third season won’t arrive until 2025.

However, with Discovery Season 5 in the can, there have been various images and a clip released to whet the appetite. The first-look trailer debuted at the New York Comic Con in September 2022!

At the recent CCXP Brazil event, Paramount+ shared another teaser. This latest extract features Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Book (David Ajala) tackling an invisible monster…

It looks as though the pair’s communication skills remain a work in progress!

Star Trek: Discovery Season 5

In the show’s final outing, we’re told that we’ll see “Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well … dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.”

The Discovery’s returning crew are Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira) and Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner).

In Season 5, we’ll also meet recurring guest stars’ Elias Toufexis as L’ak and Eve Harlow as Moll.

The series comes from CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.

The executive producers are Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise serve as co-showrunners.
