Star Wars movies are one of those that has amazed and impressed people around the globe, and for decades, it has been one of the favorites of countless. Also, it makes no difference from which part of the world you are, Star Wars is like a big hit everywhere.

As far as the storyline is concerned, the movies have appealed a large audience of all age group. Nevertheless, some parents are concerned whether the movies are kid-friendly or not. Well, no wonder, since there are several serious and dark scenes.

However, if you think your child is just too drawn to Star Wars, and just can’t stop talking about kids toys from Star Wars, you can probably share a couple of movies with them if not all. To help you decide which Star Wars movie is good for your child, and which ones they will probably like, here we have described the three trilogies of Star Wars movies.

Original Trilogy

1) Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)

The movie presents good and evil very straightforwardly. The movie is ideal for a 7 year old, but keep in mind it is quite intense. There are some fraught moments and bodies are shown burnt to crisp.

2) The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

The first half might seem a little boring for kids, but the second half is certainly exciting. If your kid is 8 years or above, then he/she will be able to handle some of the extremely jarring scenes in the movie.

3) Return of the Jedi (1983)

Again, the movie is ideal for 8 year old children. The cute and cuddly Ewoks look adorable, but don’t let your kid get too attached to them as some of them don’t survive. Also, Yoda dies.

Prequel Trilogy

1) The Phantom Menace (1999)

The plot of the movie is ideal for age 8+, but younger kids might not be able handle the darker scenes of the movie. However, the pod-racing is worth watching and so is the final battle.

2) Attack of the Clones (2002)

This one has everything to leave a 9+ year old completely mesmerized. It has blaster fights and even a robot army. Then again, the rest of the movie is a little slow for young kids. Also, there is this sad and disturbing part when Anakin’s mom dies and he kills a few sand people.

3) Revenge of the Sith (2005)

This one will surely keep your kid entertained. However, keep in mind that some very beloved character turns bad from good in this one.

Sequel Trilogy

1) The Force Awakens (2015)

This movie is quiet exciting as it introduces many amazing role models. However, there is one particular death that will upset even elders.

2) The Last Jedi (2017)

The movie passes on strong messages of teamwork, loyalty, courage and hope. Conversely, and iconic character, Luke Skywalker, dies.

3) The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

The movie concludes the well-known conflict between the Jedi and the Sith, and brings the Skywalker saga to an end.

Well, there you have it. The tales of George Lucas´ original well executed plan will live forever. Thousands of adults and kids around the globe have embraced the stories and many of which have become big fans. Last year the franchise, now lead by Disney, came to an end, when the Rise of the Skywalker killed of the last of the evil representative from the force – the son of Leah and Han.

For many fans, this will no be the end, and when Disney find themselves in acute need of finance, speculation is that a new SW movie will emerge. Untill then, may the force be with you.
