With a February US premiere, SYFY is trailing The Ark – its new series from producer Dean Devlin.
The Ark takes place aboard an interstellar which has left Earth, bound for a new home for humanity. Broadcaster SYFY are calling the show a “deep space mystery thriller”.
The show’s first trailer shows the crew waking from suspending animation as disaster strikes. With the captain and senior crew dead, it’s up to the survivors to save themselves and the mission, battling against the odds with a damaged ship and dwindling resources.
The show’s ensemble cast includes Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, Ryan Adams, Christina Wolfe, Shalini Peiris, Miles Barrow, Pavle Jerinić, Tiana Upcheva and Lisa Brenner. For character details and more info, check out SYFY’s website. The show’s first season runs for 12 episodes.
The Ark‘s pilot is directed by Dean Devlin, who co-showruns with Jonathan Glassner. Both are executive producers too, along with Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson of Electric Entertainment. Producers are Jonathan Egnlish of Balkanic Media and Steve Lee.
Along with the trailer, SYFY have released an eye-catching poster image too.
The Ark begins on SYFY, on Wednesday, February 1st in the US. Unfortunately, there’s no announced UK start date so far. We’re hoping its UK premiere will be the same.
We’ll keep you posted.
