Dean Devlin’s new interstellar show is now in production.
Updated 25/04/22: Lisa Brenner joins the cast as recurring guest-star Commander Susan Ingram.
As production continues on The Ark, the new show from Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner, further cast details are emerging. The highest profile of these, as broken by Variety, sees the show keeping it in the family; Lisa Brenner, who’s set to play Commander Susan Ingram, is married to Dean Devlin.
Best known for her role in The Patriot, you may recognise Lisa Brenner from appearances in The Mentalist, Scorpion and Criminal Minds. She also starred and produced the 2018 comedy Say My Name, which also featured Mark Bonnar and Peter Davison.
Brenner’s casting follows a slew of recurring guest stars recently announced by Syfy Wire. They include Christina Wolfe (Batwoman), Shalini Peiris (Zack Snyder’s Justice League), Miles Barrow (The Peripheral), Pavle Jerinić and Tiana Upcheva (both of The Outpost).
Production continues on The Ark‘s initial 12-episode season at PFI Studios in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Ark – cast revealed for Syfy’s new space-bound series
In January, Syfy announced its new space series from Dean Devlin. The Ark takes place one hundred years in the future as humanity looks to the stars, seeking to colonise new worlds in order to survive.
With the first of these missions suffering a catastrophic event, the surviving crew must pool their resources to see their journey through to its bitter end. We’re told “… they’ll grapple with a lack of life-sustaining supplies and a leadership vacuum, forcing the remaining crew to become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and stay alive.”
Now, with the show entering production in Serbia, the channel has revealed some further details; we now know the core cast and details of the characters they’ll be playing on Ark One;
Chrissie Burke (The Haunting of Bly Manor) plays Lt. Sharon Garnet a low-ranking officer whose penchant for staying out of the spotlight is put to the ultimate test.
Former Corrie star Richard Fleeshman is Lt. James Brice, head of the ship’s navigational systems.
Reece Ritchie (The Outpost, Rellik) is Lt. Spencer Lane, a villain in the making who believes that only those with the strongest wills have a right to survival.
Stacey Read plays Alicia Nevins, a brilliant young woman whose skills are wasted on the ship’s Waste Management team.
And finally, Ryan Adams portrays Angus Medford, an insecure young man with a talent for farming and horticulture.
With filming just beginning at PFI Studios in Belgrade, the show has a twelve-episode commission. Dean Devlin is showrunning with Jonathan Glassner, who co-created and executive produced the first three years of the Stargate-SG1. The pair also collaborated on four seasons of The Outpost for Syfy.
We’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
