Feature-length drama The House That Wasn’t Haunted continues The Omega Factor story.
Jack Gerson’s terrifying television series gripped viewers in 1979 as the secretive Department 7 investigated the paranormal. Based in Edinburgh, the team encountered ESP, telekinesis and spiritual possession, bringing them into conflict with a sinister organisation known as Omega.
While the show only enjoyed a single season on television, it returned on audio in 2015 thanks to Big Finish.
Fronted by Louise Jameson, who started as Dr Anne Reynolds in the television show, with John Dorney as Adam, playing the son of original character Tom Crane, it has enjoyed a run of three box sets, plus a quartet of audio books too.
The Omega Factor “Audio Movie”
Now, the show is returns again as a feature-length drama from writer Tim Foley. The House That Wasn’t Haunted is a two-hour, full cast “audio movie” due for release at Halloween.
We know that the story comes some time after the audio series, with Adam Crane now a successful podcaster. He’s left Department 7 behind until an unlikely meeting with Anne leads them to investigate an old, spooky house.
Plus, there’s this ominous line…
Hawthorne House outwardly displays no signs of paranormal activity – but it could be the most dangerous place of all.
Both Louise Jameson and John Dorney return, with Selina Cadell, Phillip Hurd-Wood and Reice Weathers rounding out the cast.
Producer David Richardson said:
“Working on three box sets of The Omega Factor was one of my favourite gigs at Big Finish, and so when executive producers Jason Haigh-Ellery and Nicholas Briggs asked for a special one off ‘audio movie’ for Halloween 2023, I couldn’t resist the prospect of returning to the characters of Anne and Adam.
“Script editor Rob Valentine and I said to writer Tim Foley, ‘Pitch us an idea’, and he sent through a storyline so clever and terrifying that we instantly set him to work on his typewriter. Make sure you listen to this in the dark.”
You can pre-order The Omega Factor: The House That Wasn’t Haunted now. It’s available on Collector’s Edition CD (with download) or download only from Big Finish.
