The broadcaster has picked up all seven series of the influential 90s police drama.
Sky has announced a St. Valentine’s day gift for drama fans – it’s to begin showing the remastered version of Homicide: Life on the Street from 14th February, 2025. Crucially, that means the series will also be available to stream in the UK via NOW.
The acclaimed police procedural, which originally ran between 1993 – 1999, followed the story of a homicide division in Baltimore. Inspired by real murder cases, it was created by Paul Attanasio and based on the book Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets by David Simon (who created The Wire).
Across its 7-year run, Homicide starred the late Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Richard Belzer (Law & Order), and Melissa Leo (The Fighter). The series also promises guest appearances from Chris Rock, Robin Williams, Paul Giamatti, Edie Falco, Jake Gyllenhaal, Luis Guzmán, Marcia Gay Harden, Steve Buscemi and Vincent D’Onofrio.
If you want to read more on the series’ background, there’s an in-depth feature on BBC Culture.
Remastered for HD and UHD, Homicide: Life on the Street will air on Sky and stream on NOW.
