The third run of the show will adapt the novel Gallowstree Lane.
We’ve yet to see the second series of The Tower, it lands later this month, but ITV have already confirmed that series 3 is filming.
Based on Kate London’s third novel following DS Collins and her team, The Tower 3 – Gallowstree Lane is adapted by screenwriter Patrick Harbinson and produced by his company Windhover Films, with Mammoth Screen.
The story reunites Gemma Whelan as DS Sarah Collins, with Tahirah Sharif as PC Lizzie Adama, Jimmy Akingbola as DC Steve Bradshaw and Emmett J Scanlan as DI Kieran Shaw.
Patrick Harbinson said:
“We’re delighted to be filming a third series of The Tower. Damien and I are very grateful to Polly Hill and ITV for the early commission. Gallowstree Lane has a high-stakes drugs and gangs storyline with Jimmy and Emmett’s characters taking major roles. Sarah and Lizzie have gripping and heart-breaking stories too, as the drama of Portland Tower comes full circle. I firmly believe series three will be our best yet.’
Mammoth Screen and Windhover Films will produce the four-part drama in association with ITV Studios. Patrick Harbinson will executive produce the series alongside Mammoth Screen’s Damien Timmer and Charlotte Webber. Charles Bates produces and Rene van Pannevis directs.
The Tower 2: Death Message premieres on ITV later this month and streams on ITVX. Yon also view series 1 on ITVX too.
