Top Movies with Animal Actors

Posted Filed under

We all adore animals, and we love them even more if they are members of our family. The world knows many stories of friendship between people and animals, which were later filmed. We have collected some of these stories in our rating. These films with animals have quite large ratings and are ideal for family viewing.

  1. Harry Potter

The fascinating tale of Harry Potter has captured the hearts of children and adults around the world. Eight films about a young British wizard, based on the books of J. K. Rowling, have been translated into almost 70 languages. Every minute someone starts reviewing one of them. And there are lots of animals in this universe. The maine coon Pebbles played the role of Mrs. Norris, Argus Filch’s pet. Pebbles was found in an animal shelter. She was not very well trained in complex tricks, but she moved superbly and stopped on command.

  1. Big Miracle

Near the city of Barrow, 3 gray whales get themselves trapped beneath a thick sheet of ice. Adam Carlson, a TV reporter, unintentionally notices the unfortunate creatures, and shortly thereafter, the story of the trapped giants spreads throughout the globe.

The creators tried to preserve many historical facts about Operation Breakthrough, because almost all events, including the arrival of the Soviet icebreaker, actually took place. In this movie we can also find a subtle irony that is hidden under the melodramatic layer: the picture caustically ridicules the media, “green” organizations, and human vanity.

  1. Red dog

The movie recounts the true story tale of a red dog from a mining community who set off in quest of a lost master. The dog gains fame across the region as a result of his loyalty.

The image will ultimately lead you to cry, like “Hachiko,” but before that, the audience will be able to chuckle. And the unique acting talent of the male Koko, who played the role of the Redhead, can be seen by watching the video Koko’s RED DOG Screen Test, where the director Kriv Stenders communicates with the dog during casting.

  1. We bought a zoo

The author Benjamin Mee is attempting to build a relationship with his two young children, Rosie and Dylan. As the family prepares to relocate to a new home, it is abruptly revealed that the contract requires the homeowners to also bear responsibility for the destroyed zoo.

Another story inspired by real events. This kindest family film can remind anyone that with the support of relatives, you can overcome any difficulties. In addition, the acting works of the charismatic Matt Damon and the beautiful Scarlett Johansson are more than worthy of attention here.

  1. Eight Below

A meteorite hunt is conducted by a research group. But a shocking occurrence prompts the scientists to abandon their dog sleds and head home. Eight Siberian huskies are being forced to wait till they are saved. The harsh Antarctica environment must also be endured at the same time.

The story told in the film will make the audience empathize with the brave animals until the very end. However, the real events in which the picture was shot ended much worse: then only two of the 15 dogs were rescued.

  1. Pelican

Demosthenes, a reclusive fisherman, becomes widowed and shows little care in his child Janis’s life. The youngster decides to raise a pelican chick that he sees one day. He gives the bird food, and the two of them become friendly. Pelican assists a youngster in reviving his father and improving their relationships. Pelican rises to fame in the community and draws large numbers of tourists to an unassuming Greek island. The legend of contemporary moviegoers, Emir Kusturica, was requested by filmmaker Olivier Orlé to perform one of the lead roles in his debut film.

  1. Water for elephants

A talented veterinarian named Jacob accepts a position with a traveling circus where he meets Marlena, a stunning trainer. But August Rosenbluth, the impulsive and power-hungry manager, is already married to the woman.

It is worth watching the picture for several reasons. At least this is a very beautiful love story, thoroughly imbued with the retro spirit. Robert Pattinson also plays quite well here, he was persistently trying to break out of the image from the Twilight saga that bored everyone. Well, for those who are tired of the ubiquitous computer graphics, it will be just nice to see a real trained elephant on the screen.

  1. Harry and Tonto

Elderly Professor Harry Coombs finds himself without a home. All he has left is the faithful cat Tonto. Then the old man goes on a trip to America that will change his life forever.

This thoughtful and tear-inducing image is now essentially unknown to a large audience. The main actor Art Carney won the Oscar for Best Actor when there were nominated actors such as Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson.

  1. White Fang

Young Jack Conroy tries to fulfill the request of his dying father, searching for gold in the Yukon Valley. During his adventures, he meets a tame wolf, who becomes his loyal friend.

The creators decided not to devote all the time to the animal, as it was in the original story by Jack London. Therefore, a new main character appeared in the film adaptation, played by a young Ethan Hawke.

  1. Free Willy

Jesse, a 12-year-old tomboy, encounters Willy, an intelligent killer whale. The cruel proprietors, however, wish to murder the creature in order to collect a compensation claim. But the dedicated boy will make a valiant effort to save a mate.

The life-size orca mannequin was used for this movie and later Willy movies. It was so like the real killer whale that Keiko, the male whale who played the lead in the movie, even made an attempt to interact with it.
