The legendary gothic filmmaker’s first foray into television sees him build a show for a character who shares his worldview: Wednesday Addams.
With Netflix’s Addams Family show Wednesday still just over a month away, the streamer is the building anticipation.
Their latest featurette centres on director Tim Burton, with comments from show creators Gough and Millar, plus stars Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
During the three minute promo, there’s praise for the director’s sense of colour and style, as well as his affinity for the central character. It’s all punctuated by behind-the-scenes clips and a number of black and white stills.
From the Mind of Tim Burton
We also hear from the director himself, on the subject of families and his attraction to the show’s heightened reality. There’s also a brief look at some of his artwork, one of which has apparently inspired the show’s monster. Naturally, that’s not on show although other sketches are.
Finally, Wednesday is described as “an extended Tim Burton movie” rather than a tv series.
