You may have heard by now that Netflix has confirmed a fourth season for You. After the colossal surprise of an ending, we see the main character Joe Goldberg hit the highroad in Paris. The psychological season has won millions of viewers all over the world, and it seems this season is really going from strength to strength. However, what many now question is: what should we expect from the recently announced new season? Well, here is our take on it, based on all the information that we Cultbox have.

You season 3 was so big, that it almost hit the top streamed Squid Game out of its top spot on Netflix. However, that disappointment is in the past now and there is a hopeful season 4 to redeem itself. You may be thinking, hey, is there a season 4 trailer with the announcement? The answer is not yet. Netflix always releases the official trailer a month or so before the actual release date. Now, all we have to play with, is the official collation trailer of all Joe’s conquest, and a promise from Netflix, that he will be back, with the clever twist of copy “4 you”.
Of course, we can make a solid guess that Joe (played by Badgley) will be committing a murder or two, there would be no surprise there. However, with Joe faking his own death in season 3, he will be playing an entirely new alias. Referred to as ‘Nick’ by the bartender within the streets of Paris, could that be his new identity for the approaching season? Also, the big question is, will Joe be searching for Marienne from the romantic streets of Paris, or is he just passing through? Seeing him take on other memorable locations across the US from season 1-3, could the screenwriters be looking to French it up a little? Seems all a little perfectly woven together, for a novilist such as Joe. Marienne did talk to Joe about going there, didn’t she? So, essentially, he has a hunch.
Gabrielle, who plays Marienne, would neither confirm nor deny to Marie Claire that Netflix signed her up again for season 3. However, she did hint that Marienne and her daughter did make it out alive, so there is a possibility of hope still there. Additionally, while we did hope to see more of Ellie in season 3, could Netflix be planning something? She could have heard of the death of Love and somehow is still mysteriously receiving money, despite Joe’s death announcement at the crime scene. Will she make an investigation of her own? She is very capable of doing so.
Fans may have concluded by now that Joe giving up Henry for adoption will definitely not be an easy thing for him. This huge sacrifice will undoubtedly change him, and we should definitely see that development of character throughout season 4. However, there is just one small detail, will Love (Pedretti) come back to haunt him, just as Beck did in season 2? While Victoria made no announcements in her recent interviews of her possible return, it would seem probable that Love would haunt Joe’s vivid imaginations, wouldn’t it?
