According to reports, an Agatha Harkness spinoff is in development

According to Variety, Kathryn Hahn will be back as Agatha Harkness in new spinoff series from WandaVision.

The report has Jac Schaeffer as writer and producer, and it’s far too early in the life-cycle for any details to be forthcoming from either Disney or Marvel. As to WandaVision, it had 23 Emmy nominations, including one for Hahn herself for best supporting actress in a limited series. One of the show’s wins came in the best original music and lyrics category for the song “Agatha All Along,” which was used as part of the reveal that Hahn’s character was not who she appeared to be.

It’s fair to say the character of Agatha Harkness attracted nearly as much attention as Wanda’s assumption of the Scarlet Witch mantle, and while fans would be keen to see Wanda herself in any new spin-off, we suspect this new show will be developed as something new in and of itself, though an appearance by Elizabeth Olsen would be most welcome.

If the show proceeds, we might get more specific news at the end of the year, and imagine an Agatha Harkness spinoff would get the green light to move to production in 2022, and perhaps hit screens late 2022, early 2023. As ever we’ll be looking out for the news.
