Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles to become a TV show

Posted Filed under

Perhaps the highest profile adaptation of Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles novels to date has been Neil Jordan’s movie of Interview With The Vampire, starring Tom Cruise. Since then, a few other projects have surfaced, but nothing that made quite that level of impact.

However, there may now be a fresh future for Rice’s books on the television screen, with the news that Bryan Fuller – of American Gods and Hannibal – is working with Rice and her son, Christopher, to adapt the stories for TV.

Rice has got back the screen rights to her work, and The Vampire Chronicles show is being backed by Paramount.

No word yet on when to expect the series, but we’ll keep you posted.
