Two Doctor Who episodes are Hugo Award finalists

Seattle Worldcon 2025, the 83rd World Science Fiction Convention, has announced the finalists for the 2025 Hugo Awards and among them are two episodes from Doctor Who Season One.

Dot and Bubble and 73 Yards, both written by Russell T Davies and directed by Dylan Holmes Williams, were nominated for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form.

The prestigious annual Hugo Awards honour the best science fiction or fantasy works and achievements of the previous year. Administered by the World Science Fiction Society, the awards are presented at the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) and chosen by its members. Named after Hugo Gernsback, the founder of the pioneering science fiction magazine Amazing Stories, Hugos were first given in 1953, at the 11th World Science Fiction Convention, and have been awarded every year since 1955.

The Hugo Awards will be presented on Saturday 16 August 2025 during ceremony commencing at 8pm at Seattle Worldcon 2025 in Seattle, Washington.
