Vince Vaughn is a disgraced detective, trying to redeem his career in the Florida Keys.
Despite recent news that the corporation plans to scale back its investment in film and television, new shows keep dropping at Apple TV+ for the moment.
The latest, landing in August, is Bad Monkey starring Vince Vaughn.
Based on Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 best seller, it’s a comic thriller that looks like a lot of fun.
“Bad Monkey” tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realises that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.
Vaughn leads a starry cast which includes Michelle Monaghan, Rob Delaney, and Jodie Turner Smith (The Acolyte). Plus, there are guest turns from Zach Braff (Scrubs) and John Ortiz.
The show comes from executive producer and showrunner Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Ted Lasso) and Warner Bros. Television.
Bad Monkey runs across 10 episodes, launching with a double premiere on Wednesday 14th August, 2024. Subsequent episodes land weekly.
