Billy Crystal brings the seasonal chills in supernatural mystery series. 

Like so many of his contemporaries, Billy Crystal has been lured to Apple TV+.

The actor, star of 80s movies such as When Harry Met Sally… and City Slickers, the voice of Mike Wazowski in Monsters Inc., and the host of nine Academy Award ceremonies, leads the cast of the disturbing psychological thriller Before. He also executive produces the 10-episode limited series.

Before sees Crystal playing Eli, a child psychiatrist who, after recently losing his wife, Lynn, encounters a troubled young boy, Noah, who seems to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past. As Eli attempts to help Noah, their mysterious bond deepens. The streamer describes the show as a “character-driven psychological thriller.”

Alongside Crystal, it stars Judith Light, Jacobi Jupe, Rosie Perez, Maria Dizzia and Ava Lalezarzadeh.

The show comes from Paramount Television Studios, and showrunner, writer and executive producer Sarah Thorp (Damien). Adam Bernstein (Silo) directs the pilot episode and also executive produces, alonside Eli Roth and Jet Wilkinson.

Before launches at Apple TV+ with a double-episode premiere on Friday, October 25th, with weekly episodes thereafter.
