We’re very much looking forward to this one. Bodyguard is the new drama from Jed Mercurio, best known now for creating and writing Line Of Duty.
He’s back working with Keeley Hawes on this project too, as she plays the British Home Secretary. Richard Madden, meanwhile, is her bodyguard.
We now have confirmation that the show will be with us in just over a week. The BBC will be screening the first two episodes on consecutive nights, starting on Sunday 26th August. Here’s the announcement from Mercurio’s Twitter feed…

All good news.
Here’s the second trailer…
Here’s the first trailer, that landed back in June…
The accompanying blurb to the trailer simply reads “The threat is closer than you think… Bodyguard, coming soon to BBC One. From the makers of Line of Duty. Starring Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden”.
Mercurio has started work on Line Of Duty series 5, too. That’s not due on our screens until 2019, though.
