Brass Eye: previously unseen material set to be screened

Posted Filed under

UPDATE: Thanks to those who pointed out that the new material first screened in May, here. Tickets for the September screening are still available. And yes, we got it’s a picture from The Day Today   – that we wrote about here – it just seemed like an appropriate pic!

Nearly two decades since it was last seen on our screens, Chris Morris’ classic satirical TV show Brass Eye continues to enjoy an army of fans. And some of them are in for a real treat.

The Channel 4 show, that became the working target for the tabloid press off the back of its infamous Paedogeddon 2001 special, is heading to Bristol for a very special event by the name of Oxide Ghosts.

It’s the work of Michael Cummings, who directed the entirety of Brass Eye, and he’s gone through his personal archive and found “hundreds of hours of previously unseen material”. He’s thus compiled Oxide Ghosts with the blessing of Chris Morris, and it’s debuting at the Cube cinema in Bristol on September 26th.

The presentation runs for 60 minutes in all, and it’ll be followed by a Q&A with Michael Cumming too. There are no plans to release the new footage elsewhere, as “the film is designed solely for live screenings”.

Tickets are £8, and you can get them here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/194014
