BBC Worldwide officially confirmed tonight that that nine recordings from the 1960s featuring missing episodes of Doctor Who have been recovered in Nigeria.
‘The Web of Fear’ originally aired as part of the fifth season from 3 February to 9 March 1968 and starred Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, alongside Frazer Hines and Deborah Watling as companions Jamie McCrimmon and Victoria Waterfield. The story also marks the first appearance of Nicholas Courtney as Colonel Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart, better known as the Brigadier.
