Four stars from the hit comedy are back Comic Relief on Red Nose Day 2024.
It’s been seven years since we’ve last heard from Ian Fletcher, Head of Values, and his team at the BBC. However, with Lenny Henry set to step down as the lead presenter of Comic Relief, a number of the WIA team have met to choose a successor.
The comedy skit sees Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville), Siobhan Sharpe (Jessica Hynes), Will the intern (Hugh Skinner) and Tracey Pritchard (Monica Dolan) holding interviews with potential candidates. However, things don’t go to plan when Sir Lenny arrives late and bumps into his possible replacements…
The roster inculdes a cavalcade of familiar faces, including Sir Mo Farah, Richard Madeley and Lorraine Kelly. Plus, Children In Need’s Pudsey, Bluey, Chesney Hawkes and Rustie Lee.
Sir Lenny Henry, said:
“How dare they replace me? I’m only joking, I’m flattered that the incredible W1A team have come back together to make this sketch happen. It’s hilarious and the guest stars are absolutely brilliant too.”
The sketch airs on BBC One during Red Nose Day: Funny For Money, from 7pm on 15th March 2024.
Sir Lenny Henry hosts this year’s show with Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Paddy McGuiness, Romesh Ranganathan, and David Tennant. Plus, Maya Jama and Rosie Ramsey, who both make their Red Nose Day Night TV debut!
Additionally, all episodes of the brilliant W1A, and its London Olympics’ themed predecessor Twenty Twelve, are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Comic Relief 2024
Money raised by Red Nose Day will go towards organisations helping to tackle some of the urgent problems faced by people here in the UK and around the world. This could include helping provide shelter for those that need it, putting food on plates, filling the shelves of baby banks, offering someone to talk to, or somewhere to be safe.
