The revival of the cult crime drama will begin on 8th November
While the trailer has been out in the wild for a couple of months, Sky have confirmed that Dexter: New Blood will begin on Monday 8th November at 1000. That’s the day after it airs stateside.
Here’s the synopsis:
The world at large believes Dexter Morgan died in a tragic boating accident, and in a way the world at large isn’t wrong. Far from the life he knew, living under a false name in the small town of Iron Lake, NY, he’s successfully tamped down his Dark Passenger for nearly 10 years. With a normal job and a Chief of Police girlfriend, it seems he’s got life under control – until his son shows up and turns his world upside down. Rattled, Dexter yields to his homicidal urges and soon finds himself on a collision course with a very dangerous local.
Dexter’s original eight series run began in 2006, with Michael C Hall starring in the title role as Dexter Morgan: a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer.
For New Blood, Jennifer Carpenter will also return as Debra (in imaginary form), with Julia Jones, Jack Alcott, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Clancy Brown (The Crown, Billions) also cast.
Produced by Showtime, Dexter: New Blood will play out over 10 one-hour episodes, with original showrunner Clyde Phillips returning. Phillips is also an executive producer, along with Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Bill Carraro, John Goldwyn and Sara Colleton.
In the UK, the show will air on Sky Atlantic and stream via Now TV.
