Disney confirmed this week that the company is working with Lucasfilm and Marvel to develop two live action series starring, respectively, Diego Luna and Tom Hiddleston…
While Tom Hiddleston starring in his own show as Loki has been rumoured for a while, it’s a welcome surprise to see Diego Luna will also receive his own series. Loki and Luna’s Cassian Andor were last seen in rather grave circumstances in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Avengers: Infinity War.
Their series will air on Disney’s streaming service, which debuts next year, and is now officially entitled Disney+.
Details on Loki’s series were scarce aside from official confirmation from Disney CEO Bob Iger but Andor’s series is said to be a “rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire”.
On the announcement Luna said, “Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”
Release dates for both series will be confirmed at a later date as production begins next year.
