To celebrate Doctor Who Day 2026, Silva Screen Records will release composer Murray Gold’s scores to the three Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials.
The three specials, The Star Beast, Wild Blue Yonder, and The Giggle, premiered between 25 November and 9 December 2023.
The collection will be released as three digital albums on 23 November and the triple disc set will be released on 27 November.
The official Doctor Who YouTube channel shared a preview of Just Like the Old Days from The Star Beast.
Gold’s return to composing Doctor Who since 2017’s Christmas special Twice Upon a Time features a new arrangement of the iconic Doctor Who theme tune and reprised popular pieces such as I Am The Doctor as David Tennant and Catherine Tate reunited on screen as the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna Noble.
“On this album is a record of all the music that went into that transitioning series between the return of Doctor Who with David Tennant and Catherine Tate in 2023 up to the first season of Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor which began on Christmas Day the same year,” Gold explained. “It’s a pretty exhaustive volume.”
