Doctor Who Season Two finale to be shown in UK movie theatres

Fans across the UK and Ireland will have the opportunity to watch the Doctor Who Season Two two-part finale on Saturday 31 May starting with the penultimate episode, Wish World, and ending with The Reality War courtesy of BBC Studios and CinemaLive.

Tickets go on sale 10am 1 May. The screening starts at 6pm with Wish World, followed by The Reality War.

The the screening will take place on the same date scheduled for television transmission date for The Reality War. Disney+ has scheduled the transmission time as 11am PT/2pm ET. Assuming the BBC follows suit, The Reality War should air on BBC One and transmit on BBC iPlayer at 7pm BT. The Reality War will likely screen in UK theatres at the same time.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies provided the synopsis for The Reality War to Radio Times:

“The devastating climax. Strands that have drawn across seasons and centuries now pull together, tight as a noose, as legends converge for battle. Our brave, battered, beaten Doctor stands alone and helpless against the Unholy Trinity. Surely this is the end? Unless…”

Written by Russell T Davies and directed by Alex Sanjiv Pillai, The Reality War transmits on television on Saturday 31 May on BBC iPlayer and on BBC One in the UK. Those outside of the UK can stream The Reality War on Disney+ at 11am PT/2pm ET where available.
