A special Doctor Who pop-up exhibit featuring UNIT’s Black Archive will launch in conjunction with San Diego Comic Con 2025.

From 24 to 27 July 2025, fans in San Diego will be able to visit an exhibit based on UNIT’s top-secret Black Archive – a classified facility where the most dangerous alien artifacts and forbidden knowledge are stored, as first seen in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor.

The fully immersive interactive pop-up experience includes props and artifacts from the last sixty years of the show including terrifying monsters such as a Dalek Mutant, Cybermen and the Silence. Visitors are invited to enrol into UNIT and receive their official Level 1 clearance badge to access the Black Archive.

Every evening for two hours (6:00-8:00 PM, 24-26 July), the Black Archive will transform into a thrilling mission where fans will assist the Doctor by uncovering hidden clues and secrets. Recruits who are able to complete the mission will be rewarded with an exclusive SDCC prize.

Included in the exhibit is a photo experience where visitors can step inside the Fifteenth Doctor’s TARDIS.

The experience will also include an exclusive merchandise shop packed with all-new, limited-edition apparel and accessories celebrating over 60 years of Doctor Who.

While in San Diego, fans can also explore the Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder: Where Science Meets Fiction exhibition at Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park. This interactive exhibit includes original screen-used props and costumes, along with exclusive in-depth recorded interviews from scientists and FX crew from the show as it delves into the science behind the series. And in a world exclusive, for the first time ever, visitors will have the opportunity to see all seventeen of the Doctor’s costumes displayed together.

Fans around the world who are not able to visit the San Diego exhibit can join the adventure with an exclusive digital offering of the Black Archive on the official Doctor Who website.

The Black Archive exhibit will include easter eggs from the Doctor Who spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea. There is not yet information on a Comic Con Panel for the spin-off. The San Diego Comic Con schedule will be released later this week.

The exhibit, open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday to Saturday 24-26 July and Sunday 27 July 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, will be located inside The Harbor Club in the Gaslamp District, 100 E Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA. Tickets will be available on the Comic Con website.
