Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder: Where Science meets Fiction will be touring the UK from May 2022, with further international tours dates being planned
Ready to learn about the science behind Doctor Who? BBC Studios and Sarner International today announce a brand new exhibition, Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder: Where Science meets Fiction. The exhibit will explore the science behind Doctor Who and will give fans a chance to experience the Doctor’s adventures from a scientific perspective.
The announcement claims to cover the full canon of the show — it’s debatable if one exists, and we suspect this means history, so expect older visitors to be catered for with material relevant to some of the earlier televised shows. We’d be interested in how the show predicted what was then the future and how it’s turned out, but we suspect they’ve already plenty of ideas!
The exhibition is aimed at fans of all ages, and is split into eight zones, providing chances to learn about the ideas of time travel or just get closer to some familiar monsters.
The intention is a tour will take around 90 minutes, and is very much aimed at families and schools. There’s no information yet on locations to be visited, but assume Cardiff and London will be on the list.
Tickets go in sale in October 2021, and you can read more about Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder in the announcement. No pricing has been announced — we’ll bring you more information when it’s released.
