It’s definite: French & Saunders will be back on our screens in a new television special…
It’s definite: French & Saunders are reuniting for a 30th anniversary special, that is pretty much certain to be screened at Christmas. There had been speculation this would be the case, but the news has now been confirmed by Dawn French to The Mirror.
Amongst the targets for the pair in the special will be TOWIE and The Handmaid’s Tale. No further details have been issued thus far, though, and the BBC has not formally confirmed the show. But it will…
Earlier story (September 12th)
Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are said to be working on a brand new television special, more than likely to mark the 30th anniversary of French & Saunders’ first episode on the BBC.
Their sketch show came to an end in 2007, and they took it on an arena tour in that time, too. And whilst they’ve appeared together in several things since, the French & Saunders show itself has remained dormant.
But according to British Comedy Guide, the pair are working on a new television show, that they’re looking to record later this year. The BBC hasn’t denied this either, rather issuing a statement teasing that details will follow “in due course”. Sounds like this one’s happening to us.
Still, further details remain firmly under wraps. But don’t rule out the pair’s reunion hitting our screens at Christmas. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
