Written by and starring newcomers Chris Bran and Justin Chubb, the channel’s first original comedy commission is directed by Matt Lipsey (Psychoville, Little Britain) and launches next month.
Serafinowicz will appear in Episode 2 of the show as Eric Dunt, “a seedy and unscrupulous cupboard salesman, who discovers he can make a killing touting his second-rate wares after the people of Jinsy become convinced he is The Great He, the hugely worshipped but never seen governor of Jinsy island”.
Two images of David Tennant’s character were released last week. The former Doctor Who star will play Mr Slightlyman, a corrupt, camp wedding planner with bad plastic surgery.
Other guest stars include Harry Hill, Simon Callow (Four Weddings And A Funeral), Brian Murphy (George And Mildred) and KT Tunstall.
The eight-part series is set to air in September on Sky Atlantic.
