The Welsh actress will join John Hurt (Alien, Merlin) and returning stars David Tennant and Billie Piper in the feature-length episode, which begins filming this week. The cast read-through took place yesterday.

Directed by Nick Hurran (‘Asylum of the Daleks’, ‘The Angels Take Manhattan’), the special will air in November and will receive a limited worldwide 3D cinema release.
