What does the future hold for Deborah and Ava?

As the show’s season 4 finale lands, HBO have confirmed that the award winning, Emmy^® scooping Hacks will be back for more.

The show, which pairs legendary comic Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) with a young writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), has followed the highs and lows of their complicated co-dependant relationship.

Season 4 has seen Deborah finally achieve her long-standing wish of hosting a late-night show come true, bringing a whole new set of challenges for the pair.

The show also stars Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Megan Stalter, Paul W. Downs, Rose Abdoo and Mark Indelicato.

The renewal news first came via the creators and showrunners Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky, who revealed it at a screening.

HBO have now confirmed it with Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming, saying:

“Yes! More! We congratulate HACKS’ singularly talented cast and crew and our great partners at Universal Television.”

The Hacks season 4 finale lands in the US on Thursday, May 29^th, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. ET.

In the UK, the finale will air on Sky Max on Friday May 30^th at 10 pm. The show also streams on NOW.
