It’s been known for a while that it’s coming, but the BBC has now confirmed when we can expect to see the new take on Hamlet, starring Andrew Scott, on our screens.
This is the filmed version of Robert Icke’s stage production, that ran at both the Almeida Theatre in London last year, before transferring to the Harold Pinter Theatre. Scott took the title role, with Juliet Stevenson co-starring as Gertrude, with Jessica Brown-Findlay as Ophelia. You’ll be surprised to hear that it was a sell-out, and Scott earned rave reviews for his performance.
If you didn’t get to see it on stage, you’ll be able to catch Scott’s acclaimed production on BBC Two this coming Saturday, March 31st. It starts at 9pm. Make your plans accordingly…
